We are seeking an energetic candidate for our Emergency Room department. The perfect candidate will facilitate the patient admission flow, including patient identification, accurate demographics, insurance authorization, notification and verification of insurance benefits in order to obtain accurate and prompt reimbursement. Additional duties include: providing information and answering questions about payment assistance collecting co-payments, patient liabilities and entering all necessary information into the hospital computer system.
Obtain Benefits and Insurance Verification
Point of Service Cash Collections, Co-pays, Deductibles and Coinsurance
Obtain Consent for Medical Treatment and other Compliance as necessary
Accurate Computer Data Entry
Register and Pre-Registeri Patients for Emergency, Elective and Scheduled Cases
Work with various systems including the Patient Registration and Electronic Medical Record
High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
2+ years of Customer Service experience
Experience utilizing a computer and Microsoft Office: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit and save) and Microsoft Outlook (calendar and email management)
Comfortable working a 30 hour part time overnight shift (3:00pm - 1:30am, 6:00pm - 4:30am & 8:00pm - 6:30am) must be able to work any day of the week including holidays
Experience with Healthcare Admissions or Registration
Insurance Benefits experience or knowledge
Knowledge of Medical Terminology
