The Digital Copywriter - Email is selected and placed into the position by the Digital Creative Director and, Managing Director Creative Services. The Digital Copywriter-Email will successfully create award-winning and effective advertising with the interactive creative team. The Digital Copywriter is a skillful master of creative writing, working in tandem with a Digital Art Director partner that transforms compelling and imaginative concepts into visual reality.will work cross-functionally between the Creative & Digital Experience Teams. Successfully create award-winning, compelling, and effective email campaigns alongside the digital creative team, composed of Web Designers, UX Designers, Copywriters, Email Strategists and Graphic Designers.
Partner with senior creative staff to concept and solve client projects, bring new thinking to brainstorms, creating concept statements, headlines, copy and program treatments.
Produce excellent work for clients, both creatively as well as effectively, in multiple media types but with strong focus on Email copy. Other channels including, but not limited to, Web sites, Web banners, rich media, social media, blogs and mobile.
Participate in initial development of a wide range of marketing projects.
Create and maintain copy decks, style guides, and key brand language.
Produce content in both long-form (such as Email copy, Website copy or blogs) and short-form such as (subject lines, pre-headers, digital banners or social media posts/tweets).
Deliver grammatically clean and effective copy.
Self-edit and review/edit copy written by others.
Gain all necessary approvals to move projects forward.
Help the agency win new business through bold, innovative work, as well as effective presentations.
Concept with and collaborate with graphic design and production personnel in the translation of concepts to web-ready executions.
Maintain best practices for file and server management, including the consistent application of naming conventions, file/folder organization, versioning control, script details, and more.
Maintain client brand guidelines and copy standards.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Process information supplied by clients and Account Services and translates into effective copy.
Proofread all communications developed by the creative team and ensure information accuracy.
Maintain important relationships with clients and help the agency move the relationship to one of value and respect.
Help the agency develop strong and positive relationships in the advertising and marketing community to aid in the recruitment of top talent.
Possess a positive attitude when working with colleagues, associates, and clients. Be solutions-oriented, and supportive in finding solutions to unexpected challenges.
Bachelor’s degree required and/or 3+ years experience with an advertising organization, with at least three years previous experience in a high volume environment.
Previous experience writing for digital formats.
A strong portfolio of creative that demonstrates originality, innovation, problem-solving, and personal expression.
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel on a Mac OSX platform.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, utilize resources, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget.
Strong interpersonal skills; a team player, positive and innovative thinker.
Highly motivated and a high level of initiative; ability to work independently, in support of the agency’s creative goals and the client’s business objectives.
