Community Health Systems RN - Surgical Services, Occasional in Enterprise, Alabama
To perform Registered Nurse nursing care duties for the surgical patient in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care and AORN Standards. Is responsible for the nursing care of the surgical patient; the implementation and evaluation of that care utilizing the Nursing Process. A member of the surgical team linking sterile and non-sterile fields. The Registered Nurse is the supervisor of the operating room during the surgical procedure; maintains OR records, assists anesthesia when needed, keeps patient's family informed of patient's condition; assures patient's safety and comfort; assists scrub team in maintaining sterile field; controls and maintains equipment and supplies.
- Must be a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
Must be currently licensed by the Alabama Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
Must be current and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS)
Must be current and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Must be current and maintain PALS Pedicatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Desirable characteristics include at least two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
Must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient s status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient s requirement relative to the patient s needs and to provide care needed as described by MCE policy and procedure.
