Position Title Assistant Professor of Strategic Communication and Public Relations

Job Description/Responsibilities The Department of Applied Communication Studies at SIUE seeks a candidate for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to teach Strategic Communication and Public Relations coursework at the undergraduate and graduate levels beginning fall 2018.
Preference will be given to candidates with practical public relations, marketing, or organizational communication experience and a demonstrable record of culturally responsive teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research and publish, and to perform appropriate service activities in the department, college, university, community and professionally.
Practical and/or teaching experience in Strategic Communication (public relations with secondary interest in organizational communication, social media, persuasion, communication campaigns, etc.)
Ph.D. in Public Relations, Organizational Communication, or related field required at the time of employment, beginning August 2018. Persons who have not completed all degree requirements (ABD) by the beginning of the contract period may be considered for a one-year term interim appointment at the rank of Instructor.
Terms of Appointment Continuing tenure-track position for nine months. Beginning date of appointment is August 16, 2018.
