Aspen Aerogels, Inc. Senior Maintenance Specialist in East Providence, Rhode Island
Based at our East Providence plant and working under limited supervision of the department leader, the Sr. Maintenance Mechanic ensures the plant’s operational equipment remains safe, reliable, and properly maintained. This position requires demonstrable capabilities in managing several operations and tasks at the same time. Day and night shifts available (12 hour shifts/4 days on, 4 days off).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports operational goals by diagnosing and executing unscheduled repairs on production and facilities equipment
Works safely and follow implemented safety policies of the plant (e.g. PPE, safe work permits, lock-out tag-out).
Coordinates and performs preventative maintenance on instrument and electrical (I&E) equipment according to schedule.
Understands wiring diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID’s), process flow sheets, schematics, technical manuals, etc.
Supports reliability effort by leading small projects, identifying reliability problems and serving on investigation teams.
Supports project teams with constructability, maintainability and spare parts input to layout and equipment design. .

Major Electrical Duties:
Set-up, calibration, testing, and repair of all types of controls and instruments with pneumatic, electrical and electronic variables.
Maintenance and troubleshooting of 480VAC and lower equip.
Working with the Process Control Engineer, support DCS (including Hardware & Software Programming, troubleshooting and optimizing)
Major Mechanical Duties:
Equipment setting and alignment.
Mechanical repair of pumps, valves, etc.
+ + Electrical and Plumbing/Pipefitting experience
At least 5 years in a similar role in an industrial/manufacturing/ production environment
Solid electrical skills and experience required; electrical license preferred.
Prior work history within a chemical manufacturing environment helpful
Excellent communication skills required. Must be able to communicate in verbal and written English.
Must be computer literate and able to become proficient with Company-specific programs.
Manufacturing plant: Production operations are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year as production demands.
Must be able to work in a fast paced, continuous operating environment,
12-hour shifts; 4 days on/ 4 days off
