We have a rare opportunity for an Accounting Specialist to be based in Glastonbury, CT.

The Engine Alliance (EA) is a 50/50 joint venture between Pratt & Whitney and GE Aviation (member companies) created to sell and service the GP7000 engine for the Airbus A380 aircraft. The EA is made up of employees from both member companies each residing in their separate locations: Glastonbury, CT and Cincinnati, OH.

In this role, the Specialist will have the opportunity to work with several different Pratt & Whitney departments including: GP7000 Program and Aftermarket Operations; Program Finance; Commercial Accounting; Warranty Administration; Financial Planning & Analysis; Legal; GE Finance – Commercial and Aftermarket; GE Aftermarket Operations; and External Auditors

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for accounting and invoicing for the EA’s time and material customers, including long term contract accounting for maintenance guarantees.

  • Responsible for the accounting and invoicing of all Airbus services agreements

  • Manage the accounting and revenue distribution associated with all spares and tooling sales

  • Support our annual financial audit as well as various member company audit requests

  • Manage the warranty claim process and associated accounting treatment

  • Responsible for the monthly review and submission of the EA’s Sales/Use tax returns

  • Perform monthly SAP closing activities including accounting, reporting and account reconciliations

  • Assist with tooling and inventory audits across EA’s MRO network as required

  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis and special projects as required

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA Accounting or Finance

  • 2+ years of experience in an Accounting role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA and/or CPA is a plus

  • Manufacturing industry experience is a bonus.

  • A strong work ethic and proven analytical, organization and time management skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact across all levels of the organization

  • Self-starter who takes ownership of assigned projects and initiatives

  • Experience with SAP is a plus

Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
