SUMMARY

Responsible for developing processes to improve weld safety, quality, and productivity. Provide welding training/instruction for employees as needed. Administer pre-employment/welder certification tests and maintain records as applicable. Conduct random visual inspections to monitor weld quality. Provide weld technical support to shop and aid in improving the coordination and collaboration between departments and teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop methods to improve welding processes

  2. Provide welding training and instruction

  3. Develop welding/inspection procedures as necessary

  4. Conduct random inspections to verify weld quality in Oshkosh Corporation Facilities

  5. Work with suppliers as needed to improve the weld quality of products built for Oshkosh Corporation

  6. Administer welding pre-employment and certification tests

  7. Maintain records of welder certification tests

  8. Provide weld technical support for shop

  9. Maintain routings and B.O.M’s

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

 Bachelor’s degree in related field

 Internship experience or 6-plus months of related experience
