Unit Description:Look to this state-of-the-art five-lab unit for a collaborative nurse/physician staff in the performance of a full range of diagnostic and interventional coronary, structural heart carotid, and peripheral procedures in accordance with the standards of the American College of Cardiology.

Scheduled Hours:Monday through Friday, variable shift. The department is open 6:00AM to 5:30PM for cardiac cath-lab and electrophysiology. The candidate will ideally work 8 hour shifts Monday through Friday.

What You Will Do

As an Associate with St. John Health-MI, you will have the opportunity to performbasic patient care activities to patients in assigned area.

You will:

  • Assistwith treatments ordered by physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN).

  • Assistpatients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.

  • Reportfindings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.

  • Assistwith keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.

  • Demonstratepersonal commitment to the organization's core values.

  • Displayability to perform unit-specific skills based on unit competency validation process and department-required certifications to be required within department scope.

  • Participateas a member of the multidisciplinary team. Provideclear and accurate information during hand off and rounds. Recognizepatient changes and irregularities and notifies nursing accordingly.

  • Performall other duties and projects as assigned.

PCT associates within the department help turn over the lab following procedures, provide patient transportation, and perform PCT duties as assigned. These associates work closely with physicians and nurses, requiringgreat interpersonal skills. Associates will be required to attend radiation safety training as part of their onboarding. What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • One or more of the following:

  • Basic Life Support Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.

Education:

  • HS or Equivalent

  • High school degree or equivalent required Coursework in Allied Health preferred Nurse Assistant, Phlebotomy, Patient Care Technician or Medical Assistant preferred Completion of CNA program preferred

Work Experience:

  • 6 months of related patient care experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, nursing home, or extended care facility preferred.
