Great opportunity in the heart of Texas for a Lean Operations Consultant! Growing demand has opened up a key hands-on role to help deploy the most exciting people-based effort across Baylor Scott & White Healthcare. We are searching for ideal candidates for our Operations Excellence (Lean) effort. This continuous improvement Lean Operations Consultant leader will coach and teach across our fast-growing healthcare system. This includes administrators, clinicians and staff all the way up to direct performers. Strong Lean skills with proven results are required. Healthcare experience is desired.

Lean Operations Consultant is the facilitator and project manager responsible for the successful planning, scheduling and completion of multiple operations improvement projects. Facilitates and directs the work activities for staff members and students. Lean Operations Consultant drives the adoption of Lean Management Systems (LMS) and process improvements on a division level to deliver significant operational improvement, financial benefit and enhanced patient satisfaction. The Lean Operations Consultant stewards the progress and deliverables as liaison between site operations, site senior management and director of Lean Operations Support; develops communication and continuous improvement training plans for internal staff and external customers; mentors and coaches leaders at all levels to drive lean thinking into all aspects of operations; teaches leads, demonstrates and helps assigned leaders build Lean Management Systems, (LMS) including tracking and auditing. Actively encourages Gemba management by participating in and coaching leaders to do leader Gemba rounding and layered audits; Participates in performance improvement teams and provide facilitation and technical support to assist the teams including collection and analysis of data and documentation of results. Provides facilitation and/or guidance to redesign teams. May also serve as team leader or executive coach for process improvement and problem solving teams.

The ideal Lean Operations Consultant candidate demonstrates self-direction and results orientation; excellent analytical and problem solving skills applying advanced techniques; expertise in lean, process and operations improvement; exceptional facilitator, able to teach multiple styles of continuous improvement courses and applications; has consulting and/or project management experience with formal 3 day lean or six sigma training and 12 successful projects with documented successes and can demonstrate mature business acumen; strong commitment to the philosophy and values of The Baylor Scott & White Health System.
