Responsibilities

Plans, coordinates, schedules, and ensures implementation of all aspects of special events. Special events may include but are not limited to filming for movies, television and commercials, holiday celebrations, tours for government dignitaries and foreign officials, marathons, car show, weddings and various other events.

Serves as a Contracting Officer Representative in technical phases of contracted work by overseeing contractor performance and resolving questions regarding technical interpretation of contract documents and issues.

Review and analyze operating procedures, systems, methods and practices. Shares strategies with management and justifies all financial initiatives. Reviews detailed cost comparison and analysis for revenue and expenditures and reports irregularities to management.

Manages the memorabilia program by developing, planning, coordinating, recommending, implementing and evaluating new and continued production of the sale of memorabilia items and visitor services experiences in accordance with the Miscellaneous Sales Act to enhance visitation and revenue.

Provides expert advice to senior management staff and technical guidance and advice to Visitor Center support and guide staff personnel. Use partnerships to achieve collaborative solutions coordinating all special use fee permits, including traffic, aviation, insurance, etc. Work with Regional Finance Management Office to resolve identified financial irregularities or concerns.

Qualifications

GS-09:In order to qualify for the GS-09 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level; OR master’s or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

*Specialized Experience for GS-09:*Defined as experience planning and coordinating events; preparing permits or other administrative documents, and collecting fees; experience in compiling, organizing, and tracking financial data using Microsoft Excel; drafting documents using Microsoft Word; and providing customer service by responding to inquiries both verbally and in writing.

Working Conditions: Work is performed both indoors and out, but is normally performed in an office setting which is environmentally controlled. Work performed outdoors may be in areas where the temperature can reach in excess of 120 degrees.

How You Will Be Evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

KSA 4: Application and adaptability of evaluative methods and techniques to assess and improve marketing and sales techniques.

KSA 5: Skill in developing and maintain collaborative interpersonal relationships, including the ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, program and administrative information to various levels of organizations within Reclamation and external customers and contractors. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with a diverse staff, contract employees and the general public.
