UNC Department of Public Safety Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Position Summary

A postdoctoral position is available in our laboratory to study immune cell migration and function in models of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Specifically, the project will study the mechanism by which monocyte, macrophage and dendritic cells regulate T and B cell function in autoimmune arthritic inflammation and vascular inflammation. Our ultimate goal is to identify new drug targets by deciphering cellular and molecular events that initiate and perpetuate autoimmunity and tissue-specific chronic inflammation.

Standard immunology and cell/molecular biology equipment and procedures will be used. A strong background of immunology is required.

Educational Requirements

PhD in biological sciences or related field from an appropriately accredited institution.

Qualifications and Experience

A strong background in immunology, proficiency in immunological and molecular biological procedures, and experience with mouse models are required. Highly motivated individuals are encouraged to apply. The candidate must have first author publication(s).
