UNC Department of Public Safety OPEN RANK FACULTY POSITIONS- CARDIOLOGY in Chapel Hill, North Carolina
The Departmewnt of Medicine, Division of Cardiology is recruiting cardiologists with advanced training in heart failure. The successful candidates will be Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, and will join an interdisciplinary group providing the full breadth of heart failure services including ventricular assist devices and heart transplants. Responsibilities will include outpatient cardiology clinic, attending on inpatient heart failure service, and teaching of cardiovascular and heart failure fellows (UNC has an ACGME approved fellowship in advanced heart failure). Candidates will work closely with Medical and Administrative leadership to ensure optimal care and expand the practices. The responsibilities of this position include building a referral practice; willingness to do outreach and potentially staff an off-site clinic are important. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to practice independently are essential. A strong track record of developing referring relationships with external providers is essential and ability to read echocardiograms is a big plus. M.D. degree; Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Board Certified/Board Eligible in Heart Failure is preferred. Rank and track will be dependent upon qualifications and credentials. The Heart Failure program at UNC-CH continues to grow in patient volumes and clinical trials. The Heart and Vascular Service Line at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill facilitates collaboration in teaching, research, and patient care among specialists in cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and interventional radiology. The successful candidates will work collaboratively across all divisions of Heart and Vascular and the Department of Medicine to facilitate services and achieve organizational objectives in program development, exceeding quality and customer service standards.
M.D. degree. Successful completion of a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease. Successful completion of fellowship in Heart Failure preferred.
Qualifications and Experience
Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Heart Failure is preferred.
