The Role

The newly created Unclaimed Property Operations Group aligns the unclaimed property processing teams currently distributed across the company into a new shared services team in PVSI Operations. This is an exciting opportunity to support a highly visible, strategic and innovative operations group. By bringing teams and tools together, we will leverage the talents and abilities from across the enterprise; place the customer in the center of our efforts, while reducing risk and complexity.

The Business Support Manager will lead the efforts to design and execute the business support program from the ground up for the Unclaimed Property Operations Group. This role will report directly to the Head of Unclaimed Property Operations. This is an exciting opportunity lead the development and execution on UPO planning and issues management, policy development, and governance process and technology infrastructure. This role will drive planning and strategy across functional areas to ensure operational excellence and process advancements and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, support and execute the overarching strategic plan and framework for providing direct support for UPO

• Provide expertise in the execution and delivery to ensure successful programs, developing sustainability models and support for policies implemented ensuring ongoing compliance.

• Create consistent processes and methodologies for standard reporting across UPO and implement specific strategies, in order to ensure a consistent delivery of work.

• Work with key business partners and external groups (Risk and Compliance, Legal, Audit, QA/QC and Customer Experience) to report progress, and create simple, creative solutions to complex problems.

• Oversee the overall coordination of Keane and the Verus audit

The Candidate

The successful candidate will need to have demonstrated success in building and leading high performing teams in the financial services industry and across a variety of disciplines (risk, strategy and project management) Ability to work successfully in a highly matrixed organization undergoing tremendous change. This leader will have experience leading a best in class organization leveraging highly disciplined business, financial, operations, and risk management processes and must have excellent communication, engagement and partnering skills.

Locations: Chandler, AZ; Charlotte, NC; Minneapolis, MN; Portland OR; St. Louis MO; Will consider other Wells Fargo locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: administrative support management, project management, business operations or strategic planning in financial services

  • 3+ years of management experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Risk and regulatory compliance experience

  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities

  • Strong vendor management skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of technology project management or technical consulting

  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment

  • Experience building and developing a new team or function

  • Ability to research, analyze, document, and present organizational metrics that drive business decisions

  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management

  • Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques

  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives

  • Knowledge and understanding of operational risk management in the financial services industry

  • Knowledge and understanding of strategic planning and execution

  • A BS/BA degree or higher

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
