Enterprise Information Security (EIS) is part of Wells Fargo's Corporate Risk organization. Wells Fargo views information security as enabling lines of business to mitigate information security risk in accordance with our risk appetite. Through a framework that addresses policy, process, operations, people, and technology, EIS protects our infrastructure, corporate data, and customer assets, and ensures alignment with applicable regulations and laws.

EIS Data Management and Controls team is transforming the way that EIS sources, uses and manages data. Data Management and Controls team provides support to First Line of Defense (Line of Business and functional support teams) partners to design and implement solutions for collecting, managing, and consuming quality data.

The Data Management and Controls team provides the following key functions to support the EIS Data Remediation mission:

  • Policy Guidance and Support for EIS Data

  • Data Initiative Prioritization

  • Data Source Assessment & Remediation

  • Master and Reference data Source Assessment and Remediation

  • Metadata capture and Solution Implementation

  • Data Issue Triage & Disposition

The Analytic Consultant 4 will report directly to the EIS Data Management and Controls Analytic Manager.

  • Primary responsibilities within this role includes among other things:*

  • Help execute Data Governance Assessment engagements and workshops based on Enterprise Data Governance Policy

  • Manage EIS Teams expectations and relationships, establish credibility at all levels within the EIS Teams and build problem-solving partnerships with the EIS Teams and colleagues

  • Facilitate interview sessions with business stakeholders to understand, define and business requirements gathering, data capturing and analysis, and business rule identification

  • Engage in tool evaluations from a data management perspective

  • Create data governance strategies and deploy recommendations and roadmap

  • Lead the data Governance Working Group facilitated sessions and discussions, track and follow up on action items, records and distribute meeting minutes

  • Broadcast set priorities for data governance activities

  • Ensure that the policies and processes implemented are carried out

  • Coordinate with the Enterprise Data Governance Groups

  • Train the EIS Teams in best practices in data quality, data management, and data definitions

  • Communicate Data Governance direction, coordinate and demonstrate Data Governance in depth discussions with the EIS Teams

  • Define a current state discovery analysis and needs assessment

  • Provide gap analysis from a data governance perspective, highlighting current state, future state, EIS Teams needs, best practices, and solution offerings

  • Contribute to develop roadmap/methodology required to move from current state to future state

  • Drive DG strategy, Process, requirements and the implementation roadmap

  • Provide expert knowledge of enterprise Data Governance strategies and best practices

  • Convene subgroups of the Data Governance work groups to execute prioritized data governance activities and to address critical data issues

  • Establish, document, and communicate policies and processes for managing enterprise data and the metadata repository

  • Identify potential areas where existing policies, processes and standards require change or where new ones need to be developed to ensure Data Governance objectives are met

  • Facilitate change management processes and tasks

  • Support project management activities and provide project status, risks and issues

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling

  • 3+ years of data management experience including data modeling, data integrity and data quality

  • 10+ years of experience in data management, data modeling, metadata management, master-data management and data movement

  • 2+ years of Metadata experience

  • 2+ years of Ab Initio experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of data governance challenges and approaches: metadata, data quality, and data stewardship

  • Ability to manage highly complex integration activities

  • Knowledge and understanding of BCBS-239 principles

  • Ability to motivate staff to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

  • Ability to prepare and present senior level communications

  • Meeting facilitation experience in leading discussions that result in consensus and commitment

  • Ability to research, compile, and perform complex analysis on critical operational data

  • Knowledge and understanding of information security operations
