Buffalo Manufacturing Works, EWI s New York division, is seeking a detail-driven, persistent, service-oriented candidate with sales and/or marketing operations experience to serve as its Technical Sales & Marketing Coordinator. The Technical Sales & Marketing Coordinator will work closely with EWI s national sales and marketing teams as the key liaison who owns the coordination and facilitation of Buffalo Manufacturing Works (BMW) offerings with the national team. As orchestrator of the multiple work streams involving several individuals and groups, this role will actively engage with marketing to develop new offering launch plans, with sales to construct, implement, and follow-through on sales enablement plans, and with BMW s leadership team and technical team members to facilitate all sales activities internally once a qualified lead is brought into the door until the opportunity is closed. The Technical Sales & Marketing Coordinator will play an important role in helping Buffalo Manufacturing Works and EWI achieve its mission in a financially sustainable manner.


The successful candidate will become the point of reference for colleagues (internal) and customers (external) alike, facilitating all aspects of the internal sales process

The goal is to facilitate the numerous sales activities and resources to best leverage those resource to maximize BMW s sales productivity and performance

Internal sales coordination and facilitation:

Responsible for facilitating all aspects of the sales process after a lead is sourced and technically/strategically qualified. Keeps things moving

Serves as a partner to the technical proposal author and facilitates the process through pricing, scheduling, contracting, legal, and IP

Proactively reviews qualified opportunities to review for need for custom terms and/or contracting considerations

Responsible for connecting to BMW Engineering Management, Offering/Product Management, and Project Management early in the proposal development process on areas that effect engineering team resourcing needs, equipment needs, and offering/strategy alignment

Serves as a primary point of contract for national accounts that have a Western New York-region presence

Internal sales and marketing enablement:

Responsible for facilitating all aspects of the internal sales and marketing enablement process in partnership with Strategy, individual Offering/Product managers, and corporate Technical Sales & Marketing, government sales team, and BMW Leadership Team

Educates and promotes BMW s offerings with the national sales team to promote understanding, including engaging each team member to discuss penetration of offerings within assigned accounts

Schedules and leads regular internal sales enablement meetings, takes detailed notes, and consistently follows through on action items

Other activities:

Reporting and analysis: Provides timely, reliable, and accurate sales and opportunity forecasting and analysis, across the various offerings and sales channels, to inform intelligent business decisions, including contribution and participation in the monthly national sales forecast meeting

Process development and ownership: Leverages early learning in the role to identify and create scalable internal sales processes. Audits, sustains, and improves processes to ensure effectiveness

Coordinates and, when necessary, hosts customer events, tours, and visits. Increases overall sales productivity by involving account owners and technical team members only when necessary

Sales planning: assists national Sales Director in EWI s New York division sales planning

Background in or dedicated willingness to learn engineering and manufacturing

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)


Bachelor s degree or equivalent in a management or relevant field

Degree in a technical discipline (e.g. engineering) preferred but not required


Five (5) or more years of experience in a support role in sales and marketing

Exposure to business development or professional services sales and marketing environments/operations; familiarity and a general knowledge of the sales and marketing field is required, specific sales experience is not required

Experience in a technical environment and/or manufacturing is preferred

Proven experience at successfully navigating complex, multi-party relationships and balancing multiple priorities with consistent and clear follow-through

Experience working in a research and development environment is desirable
