Our Software Quality Engineering team ensures that our next-generation software is of the highest quality. We conduct a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that our software meets or exceeds end-user requirements. We debug software products, oversee the development of test plans, ensure system tests are documented, analyze the results, provide feedback to developers and make sure that all problems are resolved. We also select testing specifications for new products and ensure testing procedures comply with industry-specific standards.
Principal Responsibilities Provide solutions to limited variety of problems of limited scope & complexity.
Exposure to and familiarity with test automation procedures
Software development expertise from a coding perspective. This is required for building test automation. Contribute to test automation activities through knowledge of coding/programming in current languages.
General knowledge of the design, implementation, and maintenance of a test environment, including necessary equipment, configuration, and software. General knowledge of one mainstream language, (preferred proficiency in C, C++). Familiarity with scripting language, Perl or Shell Scripting in open systems. General knowledge of specification documents (hardware, software or network).
Complete tasks & assignments with direction
Follow standard engineering/test practices under the direction of senior members of the team; work is closely managed.
Basic computer knowledge, limited use and/or application of basic engineering principles, concepts and theories. Demonstrated written & verbal communication skills. Analytical, problem solving skills, ability to learn and apply new tools & applications.
Use tools appropriately with technical guidance, seek assistance when needed.
Contact is primarily with direct supervisor and other professionals in immediate work group or department.
Skills Basic problem solving skills.
Basic understanding of quality tools, data, and processes
Dealing with ambiguous situations within project
Basic knowledge of software quality assurance methodologies and tools
General knowledge of one mainstream language, (preferred proficiency in C, C++)
Familiarity with scripting language, Python/Perl or Shell Scripting in open systems
Understanding of networking
Strong English verbal and written communication skills
Ability to quickly learn new technology and new products
Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment

Available to work shifts or weekends
Knowledge on NAS/SAN products
VMware VSphere knowledge advantage
Education and experience
Education and Experience Typically requires a minimum 2+ years
of related experience in a professional role; or equivalent experience
