JOB SUMMARY: The Allocation Analyst supports the business through the allocation of product to our stores. The Analyst contributes to the financial success of one or more divisions by sales, inventory turn goals and by appropriate allocation of inventory. Responsibilities include monitoring store category sales, reviewing physical inventory, identifying trends, and monitoring the timing and scope of seasonal changes. The Analyst will be proactive in identifying and reacting to store strength by major classification. The Analyst provides the team with actionable analysis and conclusions to maximize opportunities by product and store type. The Allocation Analyst reviews replenishment and High Sell-Through Report for accuracy and creates PO’s based on inventory levels on hand and sales trend. The analyst will be assigned projects by the Planner based on cycle, needs and skill development. This position controls up to $30M in ordering and inventory optimization responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with Merchandise Planners on allocation needs, executes seasonal and fashion assortment plan load-ins and adjusts replenishment to match anticipated sales demand.

  • Analyze and identify store inventory selling trends and offer solutions to make necessary adjustments to maintain the most cost-effective inventory levels

  • Collaborate with team on assortment selection and allocation needs to support sales and presentation

  • Present plans, forecasts and strategies to the team

  • Drive sales by PO creation, tracking order status and providing inventory support to stores.

  • Execute and act on High Sell-Through Report to support best sellers, identify new item success and look for substandard performers. Review strategy with Planner.

  • Analyze bottom up stock levels to identify appropriate MOS specific to each store for all assigned categories and allocate accordingly to drive business.

  • Collaborate with Planner on assortment and allocation needs to support sales and presentation and minimize markdown liability.

  • Develop strong understanding of store specific and regional sales trends and performance through data analysis and open lines of communication with field counterparts

  • Inventory Flow and Exit Strategies

  • Structure resource Allocation based on trends, space and on-hand inventory.

  • Supplier forecasting and analysis

  • Execute replenishment in conjunction with regular sales review and provide recommendations for Min/Max revisions based on store performance

  • Partner with Planner to create plans by class/department.

  • Develop strong understanding of store specific and regional sales trends and performance through data analysis and open lines of communication with field counterparts

  • Work with Store Planner to execute new store opening inventory levels and initial sales need

  • Analyze and identify store and store type inventory selling trends and offer solutions to make necessary adjustments to maintain the most cost-effective inventory levels. Analysis based on major class performance history and use of High Sell-Through Report results.

  • Provide inventory projections by sku to vendors to ensure product availability and to insure alignment with top level financial plan.

  • Weekly Reporting and action analysis at Team meetings

  • Maintain appropriate sales to stock ratios to maximize sales potential and minimize future markdowns.

  • Identify transfer opportunities to focus inventory and reduce markdown liability.

  • Projects as assigned by Merchandise Planner

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent retail experience

  • 1-2 years’ experience in retail environment

  • Prior experience with allocation and/or merchandising within the retail industry

  • Ability to gather and interpret data for various reports, as appropriate
