This position supports strategic business and performance improvement will impact all of Johns Hopkins Health System as it develops the Patient Access Initiative. Responsible for a Performance Improvement program related to all aspects of the ambulatory services revenue cycle, including patient access, satisfaction/customer service, and business/financial core service processes. The Performance Improvement Analyst will evaluate current processes/performance and develop strategies to improve performance; will develop and modify core service performance measures; and is responsible for ongoing data collection, measurement, analysis, report development and information dissemination. Responsibilities also include joint development of performance improvement action plans and enhanced training materials. Serves as a resource to the Patient Access Management leadership and clinical departments to support patient access and revenue cycle function performance improvement initiatives.

The Performance Improvement Analyst:

• Identifies, captures and achieves operational and strategic improvement opportunities.

• Advances organizational performance by utilizing a systems approach to analyzing processes, building relationships and facilitating change.

• Supports or facilitates organizational efforts for business process improvement, change management, systems redesign and integration, and solutions development.

• Provides staff support in planning and organizing cross-functional unit activities and committees.

• Works with Patient Access leadership and clinical departments to develop and implement operating goals and objectives.

Knowledge:

Work at this level is characterized by independent judgment and complexity of tasks.

Strong knowledge of spreadsheet, database, presentation and word processing software.

Knowledge of finance, quality improvement methodologies and management, customer service theory, project management, management principles, change management, organizational behavior,

In-depth knowledge of medical insurance plans.

Understanding of healthcare and hospital settings as may be acquired by experience

Awareness of The JHM organizational structure is helpful.

Knowledge of the Johns Hopkins Health System and Johns Hopkins Medicine operations, information technology and reporting systems.

Skills:

Diplomatic skills necessary to tactfully and confidentially interact with various departments and key stakeholders.

Demonstrates a working knowledge of all applicable information systems that support daily operations and reporting within the department.

Highly proficient with computer programs to perform word processing, presentations, spreadsheet development, database querying, and data management.

The ability to manage and mentor diverse groups toward the accomplishment of established goals

The ability to perform analysis of flow, staffing, scheduling and resource utilization to develop and recommend courses of action.

Education:

Requires a professional level of knowledge in statistical analysis and reporting as normally acquired through completion of a

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, finance, or related field.

Preferred Years of Experience/Skills:

Five (5) years of related experience recommended. Supervisory/managerial experience preferred. Experience managing projects preferred.
