Perspecta has a need for a Communications Manager in Boise, ID, Plano, TX, Herndon, VA, Martinsburg, WV, Philadelphia, PA.

  • The Communications Manager will manage a team of technical writers and will be responsible for Client and team communications and documentation that pertain to our contract.

  • The Communications Manager will be responsible to work with regional leaders and our customer to create and execute a Communications strategy for the team.

  • The Manager will also be responsible for people development, cost management, and alignment with the larger Perspecta and customer business goals.

Some of the direct responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor employee direct reports. May coach and mentor nondirect reports as needed. Manage Review process for the company employees. Manage team and individual performance.

  • Monitor and ensure organizational goals and contractual commitments are met (e.g. budget/cost, contracted service levels, responses, reports).

  • Advise management and peers on matters of importance within the area of Communications

  • Create strategic business plan for the Communications team within the guidelines of documented Business Unit objectives.

  • Ensure communication deliverables meet all stated objectives/requirements.

  • Establish and manage relationships with team subject matter experts, Regional managers and appropriate customer management, with an objective of maintaining and building the relationship through better communications.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • May hold Master’s or advanced degree in related field.

  • Typically 10 years of relevant experience.

  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Familiarity with leading remotely dispersed team.

  • Familiarity with leading teams responsible for communications, marketing, technical writing and documentation.

  • Ability to travel to key team sites 1 to 2 weeks each year.

  • Strong experience with all aspects of communications

  • Experience managing communications teams

  • Negotiation Skills/Influencing Others

  • Ability to build a productive relationship with the customer.

  • Knowledge of various communications methods and tools.

  • General knowledge of Project Management

  • General understanding of technology in direct responsibility

  • General understanding of related technologies

  • Knowledge of industry and market trends
