BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The CFC HR Generalist will partner with managers and associates to provide Human Resources consultation and support on HR initiatives in the areas of Associate relations, Administration, and Recruiting.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with the HR Manager, Recruiter and Hiring Managers to develop and implement recruiting and selection strategies for both exempt and non-exempt positions.

  • Monitors, reviews and makes suggestions for corrective action for Attendance and Punctuality, Conduct and performance issues.

  • Participates in the 6-month and annual review process for all hourly warehouse associates. Assists in the common review process for all warehouse associates, as needed.

  • Participates in and/or conducts New Associate Orientation and Associate Recognition programs.

  • Researches, identifies and reviews associate relations issues/concerns with CFC HR Manager.

  • Coaches and counsels supervisors and managers regarding policy interpretation and proper procedures.

  • Acts as a liaison on behalf of associates and management to address issues & concerns as necessary.

  • Assists in investigation and resolution of associate legal complaints and coordinates processes for responding to legal complaints by working with corporate counsel.

  • Advises management of possible action steps to resolve associate relations issues.

  • Explains content & importance of compliance with governmental rules, regulations and procedures to associates as circumstances warrant.

  • Conducts exit interviews and evaluates data to identify possible areas for improvement.

  • Works with HR Assistant to track and monitor all LOA utilization.

  • Manages local HR reporting and ensures reports are distributed as necessary.

  • Conducts accurate and timely investigations and follow-up as it relates to associate relations issues.

  • Assists in file maintenance and storage, when needed.

  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management/Business or the equivalent experience is required.

  • Proven track record of applying associate relations principles, applicable laws and regulations required.

  • Minimum of two years associate relations experience required to include full life cycle investigation and resolution of complex associate relations issues.

  • Knowledge of union avoidance best practices strongly preferred.

  • Affirmative Action and EEO experience preferred.

  • HR experience in a Warehouse/DC/Call Center environment strongly preferred

SKILLS:

  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills are required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel are required.
