The CLG team includes Home Lending, Personal Loans and Lines, Direct Auto, Dealer Services, Commercial Auto, Retail Services and Education Financial Services including the professional services teams that partner with these businesses and other key partners.

Our CLG Cross-Group Credit Risk team works closely with business leaders to promote a best-in-class credit culture; encourage common approaches in credit risk management policies, practices and standards; and identify, evaluate and champion adoption of new solutions, and efficiencies that provide business value in managing revenue, expense, quality and risk.

Engagement Manager

An engagement manager is a team member who is responsible for managing a third party service provider engagement in compliance with this policy. For each distinct engagement with a third party service provider, the business that engages a third party service provider is responsible for designating an engagement manager for that engagement.

An engagement manager must:

  • Thoroughly understand the third party service provider engagement, including all products and services provided, and perform day-to-day and periodic oversight including:

  • Monitoring the third party service provider performance and ensuring it conforms with contractual requirements and meets business expectations

  • Executing required risk assessments to ensure controls are working as intended

  • Communicate Wells Fargo processes, policies, or other requirements to the third party service provider

  • Communicate changes in the specific engagement to the relationship manager, senior business managers, executive sponsor, or other stakeholders as appropriate

  • Identify third party performance issues, escalate the issues as appropriate, and take the necessary actions to resolve those issues

Other related Engagement Manager responsibilities:

  • Key contact for third party contractual issues, strategic project coordination & prioritization across LOBs

  • Works with Risk areas across LOBs to support and deploy solutions, Manages projects & resolves issues at third parties across LOBs

  • Create, administer & maintain corporate third party scorecards. This includes products & services; account service; operational performance & strategic partnership metrics

  • Administrates corporate usage consolidation for contract pricing

  • Responsible for the contract compliance of all agreements/contracts in assigned categories. Conducts life-cycle analysis, cost value analysis and is knowledgeable and current about assigned supplier relationship. This involves taking a lead role in day-to-day assigned supplier performance and the overall relationship following implementation of the contract.

  • Validates supplier performance against terms and conditions of the contract agreement and/or service level agreement. Develops, implements, and reports an analytic review of assigned supplier’s key metrics in order to drive year-over-year productivity and process improvements. Negotiates/implements continuing efficiency enhancements.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: business operations, implementation, or strategic planning; or 4+ years of legal experience which includes the review, evaluation and response to agency, law firm, or regulatory inquiries

  • 10+ years of vendor management experience

  • 10+ years of risk management experience

  • 9+ years of contract negotiation and pricing experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of risk and regulatory compliance experience

  • 9+ years of process design or improvement experience

  • 10+ years of technical documentation and publication experience

  • Ability to manage vendor relationships for products or services including: contract negotiation, oversight, and SLA management

  • Knowledge and understanding of vendor contracts review

  • Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management

  • Ability to consolidate large amounts of project status information to identify key risks, customer impact, financial implications, delays, and issues that pose material risk

  • Ability to create and clearly articulate the target state including: the execution roadmap, costs, benefits and risks

  • Knowledge and understanding of working with vendors on requests for request or proposals (RFPs) or request for information (RFI)

  • Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

  • Ability to develop and negotiate solutions to issues with partners or clients including escalations as needed-

  • Knowledge and understanding of technology project management: large scale development projects, including data migrations and third party vendor integrations

  • Knowledge and understanding of loss mitigation: negotiations

  • Ability to prepare presentations, management reporting, and statistical analysis

  • Good data analytical and validation skills
