/ Summary: / Evaluates and designs database, web, storage, application, pc/desktop, management, or network infrastructures.

/ Duties and Responsibilities: /

  • Install, configure, and maintain technical systems to support business processing requirements.

  • Provide Level 2 and 3 technical support, assist in the evaluation of new products and services, and may manage vendor service level agreements.

  • Install and troubleshoot systems to ensure functional objectives of the business are met.

  • Implement and maintain system management and operating systems software, as well as research, analyze, and implement software patches and hardware modifications to resolve deficiencies and maintain established IT policies and procedures.

  • Perform capacity and resource planning by assessing risks and developing contingency plans.

  • Maintain production change control schedule assist in the change control creation and process adherence.

  • Support and schedule operating systems installations and upgrades, as well as layered software packages, in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.

  • Assist with the configuration and maintenance of physical and logical components.

  • Ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive technical system configuration and database library of all supporting documentation.

  • Develops business cases and gains basic understanding of project and operational budgeting.

  • Assists development team with modeling, physical design and application tuning.

  • Assists in the recommendation of strategies for data center and infrastructure management from business continuity, disaster recovery, monitoring, storage, security.

  • Routinely audits hardware and software to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and configuration guidelines.

  • Implements and use backup and restore techniques.

  • Mentors less experienced administrators on an ongoing and often formal basis.

  • Monitor and assess storage and virtualization environments and make recommendations to improve reliability, and health, integrity and performance.

  • Develop, plan, implement, provision, and troubleshoot storage and virtualization infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain documentation.

  • Participate in an On-call rotating schedule

  • Assists in the recommendation of strategies for data center and infrastructure management from business continuity, DRP, monitoring, storage, and security.

  • Implements and use backup and restore techniques.

  • Mentors less experienced administrators on an ongoing and often formal basis.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

/ Education // : / Four (4) year degree or equivalent experience

/ Experience: / 3 - 5 yrs

/ Skills / : Demonstrates extensive knowledge of the principles, concepts and theories in own discipline, and broad knowledge of principles and concepts of other functions.

Has developed extensive business knowledge and keeps current on industry trends.

Recognized as a subject matter expert.

Expert level of experience and knowledge of multi-tier storage and vitalization products, including;

  • MS Windows

  • Several EMC technologies (Data Domain, VNX, Vplex, XIO, Isilon, Atmos, Unity, Vipr SRM)

  • Vblock

  • Cisco UCS

  • VMware VSphere, Vrops, VRA and other VMware technologies

Working Knowledge of:

  • Networking and Networking technologies, Vlans etc

  • Storage Related Switching and Fiber

  • SolarWinds

  • SCCM

  • SCOM

  • Linux

  • VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
