Wells Fargo Home Mortgage’s Default Accounts Payable (DAP) group in West Des Moines, IA, has an exciting opportunity for a Loan Servicing Specialist 4 (LSS4) to join the group! This team is responsible for the review, validation, and processing of vendor invoices throughout all stages of the foreclosure process. We partner with a wide range of business lines within Wells Fargo as well as third party vendors and attorneys. Our goal is to ensure payment of all invoices for our vendors.

The LSS4 in this role will play a complex role on the team, which will combine research along with problem solving and analytics. This team member’s primary responsibility will be management of our team’s escalated mailbox. This mailbox is designated for our vendors’ use and may contain questions, problems with payments, or issues that need timely resolution. If trends are identified the LSS4 may provide feedback to other team members regarding the incorrect handling of an invoice or partner with the Vendor Communications team to provide feedback/guidance to the vendor on the appropriate process to follow.

Because this team member interacts closely with a wide variety of internal lines of business (claims, bankruptcy, foreclosure, legal) as well as external business partners (vendors, attorneys), this LSS4 role will provide the opportunity to obtain valuable skills and knowledge of many areas within the mortgage industry. It is a position that may lead to opportunities for advancement in a variety of directions both in and outside of the Default Accounts Payable group!

Functions of this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing third party invoices

  • Processing payments

  • Completing disbursement audits

  • Adhering to both department and business line-specific guidelines

  • Partnering with other lines of business toward resolution of issues

  • Researching and compiling data for management reports

  • Communication with external vendors and legal firms

  • May provide work direction and training to other loan servicing team members

  • Identifying trends and performing root cause analysis

  • Knowledge of state and county specific statutes as related to invoices

  • Prioritization of workload to ensure service line agreements (SLAs) are met

  • Conflict resolution

  • Project work as requested

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: customer service, loan administration, collections, or sales environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience resolving and working through escalated and complex customer issues

  • Accounts payable experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of collections, foreclosure, or loss mitigation

  • Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management

  • Ability to consult, build, and maintain solid working relationships in and outside of immediate department

  • Ability to identify and evaluate trends, isolate root cause, and provide swift/thorough resolution

  • Ability to negotiate and facilitate issue resolution

  • This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results.
