Amec Foster Wheeler Deputy Camp Manager in Turkey

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting for a Deputy Camp Manager who will represent the company on-site at the Anagold - Çöpler Sulphide Expansion Project, which is located in Erzincan, East-Central Turkey. The scheduled end date for the project is July 2018 and the work rotation is six weeks on / two weeks off.

Anagold Madencilik currently undertakes the mining and processing of oxide ore at the Çöpler Gold Mine, and intends to commence production of gold from sulphide ores through completion of the Çöpler Sulphide Expansion Project. The Çöpler Gold Mine is currently an open-pit, heap leach operation that is producing gold from oxide ore.

The Çöpler Sulphide Expansion Project is a major Plant Expansion to treat refractory ore, with the new Sulphide Plant Process scheme consisting of the pressure oxidation (POX) of whole ore followed by the cyanidation of Au and Ag with a throughput rate of 5000 tonnes/day. The expected design life of the new Sulphide Plant is 22 years.

  • Supervises Client Camp’s day to day operations

  • Oversees all aspects of managing and maintaining the camp (repairs, housekeeping, janitorial, security, managing the fixed assets, provision of medical aid, etc.)

  • Implements QSE policies on assigned camp

  • Allocates accommodation / office space

  • Monitors the camp occupancy and camp costs

  • Coordinates with the Procurement Department for the purchase of all necessary utilities, furniture, services, and maintenance contractor services for his camp

  • Coordinates with Finance for the settlement of the service providers’ invoices for his camp

  • Manages relations with official bodies (utilities, police, etc.) as related to the camp operations

  • Explains and enforces the terms of occupancy to all residents

  • Mediates conflicts or disputes

  • Provides support for the professional development (including training) of direct reports

Communication and Working Relationships:

  • Reports to Project Manager on all camps matters

  • Ensures proper coordination with all other HR & Admin Units on all matters related to camps management

  • Coordinated with PD, HR, and Operations on the management of employees mobilization and demobilization from camps

  • Works with QSE to ensure adherence to camp’s safety and health guidelines

  • Interacts with camps residence to resolve any issues related to camp services

  • Interacts on a daily basis with all direct reports for operational and other business related matters / issues

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the camp management in a comparable sized operation

  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented

  • Strong Management Skills

  • Good general knowledge of camp management

  • Excellent writing and IT skills

  • Fluent in Turkish and English language is a must
