Performs venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks toobtain blood samples for testing purposes. Properly identifies patients and follows procedures for collection ofspecimens. Ensures that all informationfrom the blood collection of specimens is entered into the laboratory computersystem including time drawn, time received, and proper phlebotomy code. Collects chain of custody urine drug screensfor pre-employment, post-accident, and just cause cases using proper collectionprocedures as set forth by NIDA. Picksup samples from nursing units as required. Performs other related functions as assigned by the PhlebotomySupervisor.

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Completion of a formal training course inphlebotomy procedures from an accredited school or training programpreferred.

Licenses/Certificates:

CPR certified required.

Experience:

One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
