*WFA Operations Manager 3/ Annuity Commissions Manager *This position supervises and develops a team of 14 Securities Ops Service Spec. team members fostering and developing an environment committed to quality and exceptional customer service. The Annuity Commission team is responsible for resolving Annuity Commission issues and questions for our Financial Advisors. They are also tasked with challenges as identified by Internal Partners, Insurance Carriers or Carrier partners. This position is also responsible for maintaining compliance, rules and regulations set forth by the Self-Regulatory organizations, State (NAIC), Federal Government and Wells Fargo.

Other duties include:

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members to maintain high employee engagement levels Communicate with direct reports who provide Annuity operational resolution support and service to meet and surpass metric goals and industry standards

  • Manage the hiring, training, scheduling and monitoring of staff

  • Negotiate high-risk decisions and changes in existing operational/administrative rules, and waive requirements and make exceptions within departmental guidelines

  • Act as point of escalation for complex Annuity Commission Issues, and contact for Financial Advisors and carrier partners on escalated resolution

  • Develop and implement process improvements

  • Primary contact for Carrier, Compliance and Legal teams when audit or consultation is needed

  • Responsible for maintaining process procedures

  • Responsible for weekly and monthly team metric reporting and analysis of errors, root cause, process Improvements and “Excellence First” submissions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of operations experience

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in operations

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of brokerage: systems or applications

  • Experience resolving and working- through escalated and complex issues

  • Ability to manage initiatives involving process improvements

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

  • Knowledge and understanding of operational workflows process

  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques

  • Ability to be proactive, innovative and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs

  • Ability to achieve high production and quality standards

  • Ability to take an active role in the education, mentoring and training of less experienced team members

  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Knowledge and understanding of actuarial pricing or valuation of life or annuity products

  • Knowledge and understanding of VA base or fixed annuity rider modeling

  • Registration for FINRA Series 99 must be completed within 120 days of hire date. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.

  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.
