The User Experience and Design (UED) intern will leverage experience and training to work with and learn from a world-class design team at PayPal. The candidate should be passionate about creating experiences and customers love. The candidate should be experienced in all facets of UED including user research, interaction design, content design, and visual design with a passion to learn and explore each area. The candidate will also collaborate with team members across various disciplines including product, marketing, development/engineering, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Work on a design team to help create designs for PayPal products leveraging interaction and visual design documents

  • Be the customer and work hard towards creating experiences and designs customers will love

  • Be a human sponge learning from a world class design team in all facets of user experience

  • Help create scalable designs for various user types, form factors, and regions (globally)

  • Work within existing style guides and patterns, while continuing to push the envelope for better experiences for our customers

  • Provide clear rationale for design concepts and how they align to project goals

  • Creatively help resolve business constraints and challenges through design solutions

  • Cleary articulate design decisions and confidently speaks to the rational for design solutions

Basic Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree Degree in Human Factors Engineering, HCI, Computer Science, Product Design, Visual Design or related field

  • Skilled at developing light weight design documents to help understand users through user scenarios, personas, content docs, and story boards

  • Skilled at using design tools to help present designs to key stakeholders across all levels and disciplines including wireframes and various visual design formats

  • Regularly facilitates design discussions with clear and high-quality outputs

  • Ability to apply customer insights to identify pain points and opportunities

  • Passionate member of the design community keeping up-to-date with the latest design trends across web and mobile platforms

  • Participate in rapid prototyping and testing to quickly gain new insights and iterate designs based on customer feedback

  • Use divergent and convergent thinking to explore many possible design solutions

  • Strong verbal and written ability to communicate the value of UI design to product, business, and technology leaders
