The Manager of Marketing and Donor Communications is responsible for managing a robust in-house branding, communication and marketing function within the Foundation, to position the organization as the premier pediatric healthcare non-profit in the country. This position leads and oversees staff and supervisors responsible for Donor Brand & Communications team, Special Events team, and Stewardship team and/or other shared services as defined by management. This position will enhance brand visibility through multiple communication channels which includes but not limited to the Foundation's Web site, social media, magazine, newsletter(s), solicitation, direct marketing, advertisement, and other forms of communication. Works closely with SVP/Executive Director to develop communication strategies to engage the next generation of philanthropists to invest in RCHSD's mission. Create a comprehensive donor communications program that is aligned with priorities identified by the SVP/Executive Director of the Foundation and the Board of Trustees of Rady Children's Hospital Foundation. He/she will have a dotted line to the Assistant Chief Strategy/Marketing Officer of Rady Children's Hospital Marketing and Communications to ensure branding, messaging and campaigns are closely coordinated (both internally and externally). Meets or exceeds individual and department performance standards as assigned by management. Creates and executes special projects as assigned by the SVP/Executive Director and/or supervisor.


Bachelor's Degree

7 years of experience

Detail-oriented and management experience with performance metrics

Must have experience in marketing, special events, social media, market research and/or strategy consulting

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to effectively communicate information to a range of customer and internal audiences

Analytical, planning and project management

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Works efficiently under pressure, meets deadlines, demonstrates strategic thinking and good decision-making, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit


Master's Degree

10 years of experience

Knowledge around Blackbaud non-profit applications

Experience in a fundraising environment
