This position is located in the Surface Maintenance Engineering Planning Program, Maintenance Department, Modernization Division, Portsmouth, Virginia.

As a Management Analyst, you will perform studies that involve developing, analyzing, evaluating, advising on, or improving effectiveness of work methods, procedures, products, organizations, manpower use, distribution of work assignments, delegations of authority, management controls, for organizations involved in surface ship maintenance planning and execution.

Duties

As a Management Analyst, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning and conducting comprehensive studies and reviews for ship maintenance and modernization planning programs.

  • Developing new or substantially modified plans for organizational structures, work processes, or management systems.

  • Attending meetings with managers and supervisors to participate in formulating and presenting management improvement plans and strategies.

  • Recommending ways to improve the effectiveness and economy of managing organizations and employees, and of utilizing resources.

  • Making presentations, orally and in writing which persuade or influence managers to accept proposals and recommendations for management improvements.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting studies, analyzing findings, and making recommendations with regard to ship maintenance and modernization projects.
