The Research Specialist will be trained, if needed, on specific lab techniques to perform research ex vivo lung perfusion. The research specialist will be on call for such procedures as materials become available at off hours. Simultaneous collection of specimens and delivering therapeutics will occur. Database development and management tasks will include database development and maintenance, data entry and ensuring data completeness; will complete immune cell assays, primary cell culturing and perform flow staining. Will also contribute to analysis of results and preparation of manuscripts. Routine lab tasks such as data input, reagent preparation and record maintenance will also be required.Position is contingent on continued funding
The minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 1 to 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Applicants should have good organizational skills and writing and communication skills. Must be able to work as part of a team but also function with a high level of independence. Molecular biology experience desirable.
