Research Specialist A. Maintenance of any size mouse colony. Records, interprets and analyzes results using prescribed methods. Maintains an orderly, clean and safe laboratory environment. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment, maintains accurate laboratory records and adequate lab supplies. Assists senior-level research personnel with related duties as required. Research Specialist B. Maintenance of any size mouse colony. Designs and performs basic to moderately complex laboratory experiments and scientific procedures relating to assigned research project(s). Records, interprets and analyzes results using prescribed methods. Maintains an orderly, clean and safe laboratory environment. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment, maintains accurate laboratory records and adequate lab supplies. Assists senior-level research personnel with related duties as required. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in cloning, mutagenesis and genotyping.Position is contingent on continued funding.
Research Specialist A: A Bachelor’s Degree is required and 0-1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience working in laboratory environment; knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols preferred. Research Specialist B: Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Previous experience in cell culture & protein purification required, as well as, molecular biology techniques including cloning and DNA prep. The Research Specialist must have excellent organizational, and computer skills required.
