The position is for a research technician to work in the laboratory performing a wide variety of techniques, for example qPCR, transformations, Western blot, etc. The main responsibilities will be divided into three parts: 1. maintenance and management of a transgenic mouse colony, including breeding and genotyping by PCR, preparation for in vivo experiments, post-mortem surgeries, etc.; 2. Ordering and general laboratory management; 3. Performing of a number of molecular biology experiments. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for preparation and writing and updating of protocols. Other duties will include performing a number of assays using real time PCR, molecular cloning, DNA sequencing, cell culture, retroviral/lentiviral transduction, ELISA and Western blotting. Ability to work well independently as well as with others is critical. Interested candidates should have a bachelor degree in a biomedical discipline and 1-3 years of experience.


Research Specialist A- Bachelor’s degree with a major in a science field that can be chemistry, biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, pharmacology, or related field and 1-3 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience in animal handling, mouse breeding strategies, and genotyping by PCR is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently is necessary.
