Administers human resources functional activities for benefits, compensation, employee relations, metrics, Human Resources Information System (HRIS), public relations, recruitment and/or training. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state regulations regarding Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA) and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).
Sources trained and skilled job applicants for open positions using a variety of methods including online job postings, attending job fairs, and working with external recruiting agencies. Ensures sufficient applicants to meet future hiring needs.
Reviews and screens employment applications utilizing applicant tracking software. Creates prescreen questions, evaluates applicant work history, education, and other qualifications. Documents additional skills, knowledge, abilities, and other data pertinent to the hiring process.
Conducts preliminary screening interviews to identify potential candidates for open positions. Refers selected applicants to interview with departmental managers and supervisors. Arranges for candidate travel as required.
Utilizes appropriate interview questions to determine candidates for potential selection.
Schedules and participates in interviews. Documents interview candidates responses to questions and ensures compliance to state and federal regulations regarding the interview process.
Assists the hiring department in making final hiring decision. Processes and prepares appropriate documentation, conducts background, reference and other related checks on final candidates.
Prepares and presents job offers to selected candidates. Discusses compensation, benefits, hours and working conditions, company policies and other related information.
Coordinates relocation efforts if necessary.
Coordinates and conducts new hire orientation ensuring employees make a smooth transition to the workplace.
May assist in other HR functional areas as needed.
May Conducts drug / alcohol screenings as required by company policy.
May be assigned additional duties and/or special projects.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelors Degree and 0-3 years recruitment or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge and understanding of applicable laws.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Time management and project management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
May have to work overtime and may be assigned to other shifts based on company needs.
High degree of confidentiality must be maintained due to the nature of the information with which this position works.
