Lockheed Martin Energy Efficiency Projecy Engineer (NYC) in New York City, New York
Lockheed Martin Energy is seeking an experienced professional with knowledge of renewable energy, distributed energy resources, power purchase agreements, and storage technologies. This position will support the delivery of large, complex energy efficiency and distributed energy resource solutions to Commercial & Industrial facilities. Candidate must be a detail-oriented, have strong analytical skills and the capacity to handle multiple projects and roles. Deep understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, knowledge of renewable technologies, ability to analyze energy savings and cost effectiveness of projects, ability to complete technical site walk-throughs, develop project budgets and work within tight timelines.
Reporting to the Project Lead, the energy and sustainability professional will oversee and manage the planning and implementation aspects of ongoing projects and support the Project Lead in communications and coordination with other internal and external functional teams (Customers, Cost estimator, Distributors, Design Engineers, etc.) Individuals must have excellent written and oral communication skills, work well with customers, and ability to present complex engineering data and concepts to non-engineers. May require some travel. Duties and Responsibilities: •Work closely with project staff and customers including engineers, field staff and C Suite •Complete technical walk-throughs of facilities, identifying energy efficiency/generation potential •Work with design engineers and cost estimators to develop energy savings and cost effective calculations •Present findings and recommendations to customers with Project Lead
Basic Qualifications engineering and/or program management experience including calculation development, strategic project implementation, budget management, and client/account management. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications are also required. Strong collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical groups, attention to details, superior organization skills, and successful experience developing and implementing projects are necessary. •Economics and Finance minor or major •3 - 5 years of experience in developing power purchase agreements, project financing mechanisms, and distributed energy resources •Ability to communicate with technical staff, facility managers and facility decision makers to bring energy efficiency projects from concept to installation. •Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, specifically MS Excel and MS Dynamics
