General Information:

An essential part of TransCanada’s success in growing our Energy Services business in Mexico is strong local leadership. We are currently looking for a Manager to lead the Information Technology team in Mexico. The role is accountable for all aspects of IT Services in TransCanada Mexico. It will report to the Director, Business Unit IT Services in Canada while maintaining an indirect accountability with the Director, Corporate Services Mexico for local business unit management. The role will provide front line leadership to the Mexico based team of IT professionals performing duties such as End User Computing support, application development and support, and project management.

More specifically, the Manager, IT Services in Mexico will be responsible for developing strong strategic alignment between the Mexico business unit and the corporate IT areas in other parts of North America. The position provides leadership, performance management, strategic guidance and career development to the professional staff in Mexico.

Fluency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written) will be a critical requirement for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to all the TransCanada staff and contractors supporting IT Services in Mexico;

  • Work closely with the Governance teams in Canada and the United States to learn, understand and deliver on corporate standards and Company best-practices within the disciplines;

  • Work closely with the business representatives to ensure appropriate and highest-value IT services are delivered to the Mexico business;

  • Develop and monitor annual department operating budgets and project execution budgets as required;

  • Develop strategic objectives to deliver continuously improving services that enable growth within the department and business unit;

  • Work as a member of the TransCanada Mexico Leadership team to understand the value chain of the company and how the IT team delivers value across the organization. Qualifications and Education: Qualifications and Abilities:

  • Proven people leadership expertise demonstrating competencies in building effective teams, peer relationships, directing others, command skills, decision quality, problem solving, priority setting, process management, and managing vision and purpose;

  • A broad knowledge and experience in supporting all aspects of Information Technology in a large organization. This would include Business Relationship Management, support standards and processes for business applications, end user computing support, project management, and general aspects of server and telecom support.

  • Demonstrated planning, organizing, prioritizing, analysis and project management skills. Education:

  • University degree in Business, Computing Sciences, Management Information Systems, Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience;

  • General knowledge of SAP use and functions would be considered an asset;

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in both English and Spanish.
