Summary:

This is a high exposure position, leading industrial plant productivity, innovation and renovation projects. The Plant Project Engineer owns the trial management system for their plant and works to implement the NORAM industrial homologation process.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives plant adherence to NORAM project management guidelines.

  • Plant owner for trial management and industrial homologation.

  • Pushes for adherence to safety, quality, environmental and business objectives.

  • Coordinates with and works with other Plant Project Engineers on NORAM projects.

  • Attends weekly reviews with Activity Managers to review all approved plant project activities.

  • Attends reviews with commercialization team, DanTrade and R&D to review projects and provide updates.

  • Utilizes network tool(s) for reference, implementation and communication.

  • Generates project trial reports for high priority projects and shares with NORAM team.

  • Lead plant trials of low complexity as well as those in which the PPE is the best project trial lead.

  • Gathers project highlights/summary to communicate to the network.

  • Will work with R&D at various stages of the project to help enable business success.

  • Identifies risks/opportunities on projects impacting industrial.

  • Works with Activity Manager to help organize trials and new product start-ups at the plant level.

  • Utilizes communication with Activity Managers to report out trial progress and completion.

  • Works with Commercialization managers to streamline project updates and project leader activities.

  • Works to incorporate production (plant) and quality originated projects into the network.

  • Key contact for specification network (process and product), included in approval process.

  • Works with plant team to ensure production samples are produced and delivered.

  • Approves packaging graphics artwork changes as Industrial Representative.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing or related science.

  • Established Project Management skills.

  • 1-3 years of experience in one or more areas of packaging systems and manufacturing operations.

  • Demonstrated utilization of continuous improvement tools (problem solving, root cause, spc)

  • Ability to understand and analyze packaging and processing systems.

  • Process-oriented; able to identify process improvements and implement change successfully.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Functional use of Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with measurement or testing equipment.

  • Functional use of AutoCAD and Minitab or other SPC tool preferred.
