Role:

The Presales vArchitect is the solution architect/pre-sales engineer in the CPSD sales team working with C-level and IT Data Center customers and partners to architect market leading converged infrastructure solutions that deliver strategic business value. The vArchitect designs competitive solutions that include Cloud platforms, Converged Infrstructure, Hyper-Converged Infrastrucutre and the building blocks that comprise them (Physical and Virtual Storage, Compute, Network including SDN, Virtualization platforms, and data protection. )

We are seeking a Presales vArchitect Manager based in London to manage a team of vArchitects who will be working 1:1 with Account Managers on new opportunities

The vArchitect team presents and markets the design and value of proposed CPSD solution and business case to partners, customers, prospects and CPSD management as well as qualifies the sales opportunities in terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making, and future strategies.

The vArchitect provides technical expertise in support of pre-sales activities in the assigned market.

Responsibilities:

  • Line management duties for Presales vArchitect team

  • Resource scheduling for team

  • First line escalation for team and sales issues

  • Produce operational reports to Snr Manager, vArchitect as well as EMEA vArchirect Director

  • Perform deputy duties for EMEA Snr Manager when out of office

  • Define solutions with CPSD sales team to support customer business requirements and future strategies

  • Leverages knowledge of competitive solutions to effectively address and dispel customer objections to CPSD solutions, and train the account and partner teams

  • Establish relationships with the CPSD parent account teams, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives and engages and leverages corporate resources, abilities, budgets and personnel as appropriate

  • Executes technical sales calls

  • Configures and documents CPSD software, hardware and service solutions to meet customer and sales objectives

  • Completes required presales documentation quickly and accurately

  • Qualifies sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process and funding

Presents and markets the design and value of proposed CPSD solution and business case to customers, prospects and CPSD management

Critical Hiring Criteria:

Professional Experience:

  • At least 5-8 years Solution Architect experience (ideally coming from VMware/Storage background) with at least 2-3 years pre-sales/customer facing experience

  • At least 2-3 years Team Lead or Line Manager experience leading a team of Technical Architects or Pre-Sales Consultants (e.g. Lead Architect, Practice Lead, SE Lead, etc)

  • Define solutions with CPSD sales team to support customer business requirements and future strategies

  • Builds business cases (including ROI & TCO analysis) on IT transformation to present to C-Level within Enterprises, System Integrators and Service Providers/MSPs

  • Sizing VMware workloads on Storage/Server (Data Center Infrastructure) using capacity planning tools

  • Ability to Architect complex Data Center designs incorporating Application layer, Virtualization layer and data center infrastructure (Storage/Server/Network)

  • Experience of designing Management & Automation layer (using M&A tools such as vCloud Director, vCenter Ops, vCAC, UCS Director) or similar tools from BMC, CA, HP, etc.

  • Leverage knowledge of competitive solutions to effectively address and dispel customer objections to CPSD solutions, and train the account and partner teams

  • Establish relationships with the CPSD investor account teams, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives and engage and leverage corporate resources, abilities, budgets and personnel as appropriate

  • Qualifies sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process and funding

  • Presents and markets the design and value of proposed CPSD solution and business case to customers, prospects and CPSD management

  • Possesses detailed product/technology/industry knowledge. Knowledge of job associated software and applications.
