The Project Manager, Design Technology Initiative is responsible for the planning, executing and monitoring of Design Technology Initiative projects. Additional duties include:

  • Oversees Freeman’s Software Development Lifecycle for all project assignments by setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring execution and summarizing project progress.

  • Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects to complete all project work.

  • Manages the development of project charters, schedules, budgets, risk responses, change control and status reporting for various levels.

  • Serves as the main point of contact for IMAGINiT, the vendor/partner for the Design Technology Initiative.

  • Facilitates discovery sessions related to the Design Technology Initiative.

  • Provides leadership and facilitates the work of cross-functional project teams by clarifying project objectives and defining tactics necessary to accomplish these objectives

  • Drives decision-making at all levels to determine project expectations and outcomes. Works with team members, stakeholders and sponsors in a mixed development environment (contractors and employees) within global environment.

  • Drives cross-functional team members to develop detailed project schedules and milestones, project plans, budgets, scope, timeline and risks and risk mitigation plans to meet the requirements of the project while maintaining a positive team environment

  • Develops project budgets and integrate project costs into the organization-level budget and financial forecasts

  • Continually manages project expectations with team members, stakeholders and management by monitoring progress against the plan, escalating problems and issues that impact cost, scope or schedule

  • Manages external delivery partners and contractors when required

  • Monitors trends, technologies and developments relating to Design Practice for incorporation into the RDC’s as appropriate

  • Promotes a culture of excellence, constant improvement, and innovation amongst RDC staff.

  • Promotes and applies the Freeman Learning Cycle in all solution development

  • Supports the Freeman Manifesto at all times.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum 4+ years of Project Management experience

  • Prior experience as an IT Project Manager

  • Prior experience in defining development plans for large and complex projects

  • Must have a proven background in application development methodologies, SDLC, Aglile, Scrum, and other IT industry standards.

  • Must have a solid technical aptitude and background as needed to support the oversight of development and management of complex applications.

  • Requires a solid technical understanding of customer-facing or internal systems technologies such as .net, java, Oracle, SAP, SQL, etc.

  • Must have people management skills to lead and influence professional resources of high caliber.

  • Must demonstrate a proven ability to manage in a matrix environment and partner with IT and business area representatives in leading and supporting development activities.

  • Must have experience with innovative & emerging technologies.

  • Requires experience developing and managing project timelines, resources, vendors, and budgetary requirements for large, complex projects.

  • Must have demonstrated strong business judgment, decision-making skills and a passion for technology.

  • Must have proven written, verbal, and presentation communication skills


  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)®


  • High School Diploma or GED


  • Bachelor's Degree in computer systems or related field
