Global Procurement delivers world-class procurement capabilities to Pfizer, partnering with internal Pfizer customers to ensure they receive maximum value for every dollar spent with Pfizer suppliers. We strive to obtain the right price for the right product or service.This Manager is responsible for delivering value, including year on year cost savings for Pfizer's Essential Health (PEH) Business, within the Scientific services categories for Pharmaceutical Science. Scientific services categories include early stage development, CRO / laboratory services for preclinical and clinical development, and pharmaceutical science outsourced categories. The PEH Scientific Services Procurement Manager will partner with Global Procurement colleagues within PEH and across other Business Unit's and Divisions as applicable. The Manager will provide site support on an as needed basis and will perform data analysis and reporting, market intelligence gathering, project management, and the support of complex local and global souring initiatives. This role also acts as a liaison with Category Strategy Managers (CSM) to contribute to the development and implementation of Market/Site, and where agreed, Regional category strategies through participation on or leading of cross-functional teams. The Manager will enhance Procurement's relationship with internal customers to proactively identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement opportunities. The Manager is also responsible for developing and enhancing Procurement's relationship with external suppliers to improve cost and service. The Manager works to build deep expertise within their categories of ownership to support the development of robust strategies, and provides non-category specific development to support the goals of the department and function. The R&D Scientific Services Manager role provides centralized leadership and management of all procurement activities occurring at the site/market and is accountable to Cluster/Regional/Site Leadership for their effectiveness. The role drives efficiencies and the development of new strategies to support stakeholders and optimize budgets under their responsibility. The role also provides operational and strategic support including planning and executing local sourcing projects and negotiations and managing critical stakeholder engagements. The role is also responsible for Business Process and Operations support, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P) strategies as applicable. The Manager / Site & Market Lead ensures that all procurement activities are carried out in a compliant manner and in conformance with all Pfizer policies.
