AbbVie Marketing Manager in Lake County, Illinois

The ProductMarketing Managerleads the development of commercial plans to maintain market leadership in an increasingly competitive landscape. The Product Manager II will work closely with multiple commercial operations teams to ensure success in development of strategy, creative and execution plans, product support and sales execution. Internally, the PM II will foster positive working relationships with the sales force, medical affairs, medical review, market research, sales training, regulatory review, business analytics, customer experience, paid media and other cross franchise teams. Externally, the PM II works with various ad agencies, consultants, and physicians to successfully drive the business. The PM II must demonstrate the ability to lead without authority, while building a collaborative, integrated commercial brand team.

Key Responsibilities Include: * Contribute to the development of the consumer strategic plan leveraging both internal and external business understanding and insight. * Lead development and execution of consumer plan and tactics to drive brand and disease awareness, acquisition, and conversion initiatives through a variety of channels including; mass, social, CRM, in-office, print, website, banner ads, and publisher programs. * Lead the creative development process continuously implementing best practices with ability to understand the key drivers that influence the design of materials * Lead the development and management of digital programs to optimize the customer experience across all touch points * Lead development of media plans, then evaluate and optimize by tracking performance and identifying implications of all media types * Decipher and extract motivational (activating) insights and prioritize for application toward strategically valued customers and stakeholders * Continually evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programs and recommend changes in strategy or tactics as appropriate * Think innovatively regarding the application of new technologies to marketing, particularly within a regulated environment * Proactively support the sales force through ongoing communications of marketing programs * Direct and motivate agency staff to develop impactful tactics * Demonstrate the ability to interpret financial components of brand management, including profit and loss statements, and return on investment * Apply basic accounting, financial principles and tracking managing a budget * Develop agency SoW’s to support tactical plan development and execution * Influence others through clear communication, expertise, trust, commitment, and follow-through * Manage internal/external networks, consultants, and agency partners * Negotiate and interact with diverse roles (and personality types), and especially MRL, and IBT

Basics: * Bachelor’s Degree * 7-10 years brand marketing/consumer promotions experience required. * CRM experience including Direct mail and e-mail required. * DTC mass media (TV, Print, Web) experience * Understanding of social media platforms and their application * Apply marketing concepts in the development of marketing plans and programs including brand positioning, brand architecture, SWOT analysis, competitive assessment, market research, marketing objectives/strategies, patient segmentation, etc. * A balance of analytical capability and creative vision * Excellent communication (oral, written, and presentation) and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work with all levels in a highly matrixed organization. * Communicate clearly and concisely with several types and levels of staff and external contacts, both in writing and verbally * Ability to influence senior management. * Strong planning and organization skills, attention to detail, execution, and follow-through * Demonstrated track record of high performance as evidenced by awards or other recognition and accomplishments * Experience working with and managing multiple external agencies including advertising, digital, database agencies and internal partners preferred. Preferred Qualifications: * Pharmaceutical consumer marketing experience * Multiple brands experience * MBA * 2 years of managerial and leadership experience
