Amec Foster Wheeler CEI Project Liaison in Kennesaw, Georgia

Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is seeking a Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) Liaison Project Manager for the Kennesaw, GA location. Incumbents typically spend most of their time performing project management duties to ensure that construction inspection, documentation and materials testing on the client’s projects are completed correctly and in accordance with applicable standards and specifications. Incumbent also closely monitors project CEI budget, providing the client with updates to make sure resources are used efficiently and are available throughout the life of the contract.

Liaison CEI Project Manager serves as the single point of contact with the client’s staff to ensure that each project is executed efficiently and effectively. In addition, he also mentors, manages and assigns inspectors and field technicians to projects, assuring that all are properly trained and equipped and have necessary certifications to perform inspection on client’s construction projects; assists the client with investigating issues that arise on projects, gathering and analyzing data to develop recommendations; performs routine construction project inspections to monitor quality of service to the client and ensures that interests of both the client and Amec Foster Wheeler are protected; mentors managers and field technicians to assist in their development; monitors the project budget to manage available funding; and provides front-line quality control of AMEC services for scope, schedule, safety, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competency in a combination of areas including field supervision, technical knowledge and project management

  • Motivates trains and mentors subordinate staff assigned to his / her tasks or projects

  • Monitors client’s budget for project and provides updates

  • Represents Amec Foster Wheeler and interacts in a professional manner with client, teaming partner firm and subcontractor representatives

  • Responsible for ensuring Amec Foster Wheeler’s administrative and financial policies and procedures as well as the methods and procedures specific to his / her specific discipline are followed

  • Understands, applies and oversees safety requirements in the field

  • Responsible for the identification of new clients and/or developing additional work within an existing project or with an existing client

  • Responsible for recruiting potential employees and maintaining resumes in order to staff projects with appropriate personnel quickly in response to client’s needs

  • Has direct staff management responsibilities including performance management, career development and mentoring

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Typically 25+ years of experience is required

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • Registration as Professional Engineer in primary state of responsibility is desired

  • Experience and demonstrated ability working within established standards, policies and procedures of appropriate State and Federal Transportation agencies is desired

  • Understanding of Federal and State Transportation funding policies and procedures is desired

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems

  • Demonstrated task and project management skills

  • Staff management and leadership ability

  • Demonstrated maturity in judgment, initiative and client relations

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability and willingness to develop business from new and existing clients

  • Ability to establish effective internal and external working relationships

  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record

Work Environment

  • May occasionally require work at remote sites around construction equipment, drilling rigs, explosives and environmental contamination

  • Overtime and overnight stays may be required

  • Some fieldwork may occasionally require working with hazardous materials and in hazardous conditions

  • Worker would not typically be substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions

  • Will be required to follow all applicable health and safety procedures associated with work environment
