We are seeking a Systems Engineering Specialist for our West Palm Beach, FL location.

In this role, you will perform systems engineering assignments requiring a wide application of advanced principles, theories and concepts in the field plus a working knowledge of other related disciplines. Assists chief engineer with team coordination and planning, interfacing with program management and customers. Provides leadership and discipline direction to less experienced engineers on team.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):

The Specialist Engineer performs with minimal direction and exercises latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. The Specialist Engineer often has lead responsibility on a project. Assignments are performed without appreciable direction, requiring a broad understanding of systems engineering principles and a working knowledge of other related disciplines to define rocket propulsion system requirements. Use ingenuity and creativeness to solve difficult problems and successfully accomplish work despite constraints and obstacles. Exercise considerable latitude and good business judgment in determining needed SRIR scope and in determining technical objectives and solutions for resulting work scope.

75% - Meet all delivery requirements by understanding customer requirements, developing robust plans, creating deliverables with first-time through quality, and then meeting delivery commitments despite obstacles and constraints.

15% - Contribute to Discipline growth by improving procedures, best practices, training, introducing state-of-art methods, and fully supporting Discipline initiatives. Mentor less experienced systems engineers in the methods and procedures within SRIR.

10% - Provide SRIR leadership and support on a wide variety of programs. This includes participating in proposal activities as required, defining the proper level of SRIR scope for each program, identifying associated risks, fully understanding customer requirements and expectations, efficiently completing SRIR efforts within budget and schedule, and communicating progress and results effectively and efficiently.


Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and nine (9) years of directly related experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree desirable.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Should have experience with DOORS or equivalent requirements management software.

  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically on a frequent basis.

  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) knowledge and rocket propulsion knowledge desirable.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
