Third Party Vendor Compliance Analyst

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Vendor Risk Administration Manager, the Vendor Risk Analyst is responsible for contributing to the effective bank wide management of vendor risk. The broad responsibilities of this position are the management of the Vendor Risk Monitoring and Oversight component of the overall Vendor Risk Management program. This position works closely with all of the Vendor Risk Managers (VRMs), the risk Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the bank Vendors to ensure the bank and vendors are adhering to the details set out in each of the ongoing monitoring components in the Vendor Risk Management System (VRMS).

This position is also responsible for maintaining and proposing updates to bank-wide policies impacting this area. Additionally, they are responsible for creating vendor risk reporting and informing management of potential problems and unusual situations concerning vendor risk monitoring.

Major Responsibilities:

(75 %) Risk Management: Adherence to vendor management related regulations and Bank Vendor Management Policies and Procedures: Establish and maintain a positive and productive working relationship and provide guidance and assistance to all participants, internally to the bank and externally with bank vendors to ensure adherence to the monitoring component of the Vendor Risk Management program. Proactively ensure all VRMs are performing the appropriate monitoring functions associated with their assigned vendors and the supporting documentation is uploaded into VRMS on a risk based approach. Ensure that complete vendor files are maintained as dictated by Bank Policy and Procedures to satisfy the expectations of internal and external auditors. Ensure the VRMs and vendors are updating documents and information as required in VRMS on a timely basis to ensure the bank has a solid, risk based monitoring program.

Create and use VRMS and Excel reporting to verify the condition of ongoing monitoring and oversight activities and escalate identified issues as appropriate.

As regulations change, propose applicable updates to Policies and Procedures and VRMS.

(15 %) Subject Matter Expert: Be an expert in Bank Policies and Procedures relating to Vendor Risk Management and have the ability to provide guidance through all components of the program. Have the ability to interact and discuss the Vendor Risk Program at all levels of the company and the ability to back up the management of Vendor Risk Administration. Participate in training and assist in the creation and review of job aide materials and procedural changes on an as needed basis.

(15 %) Subject Matter Expert: Be an expert in Bank Policies and Procedures relating to Vendor Risk Management and have the ability to provide guidance through all components of the program. Have the ability to interact and discuss the Vendor Risk Program at all levels of the company and the ability to back up the management of Vendor Risk Administration. Participate in training and assist in the creation and review of job aide materials and procedural changes on an as needed basis.

(10%) Perform special projects and additional responsibilities as needed: Projects will primarily involve Policy updates, Procedural updates, process improvement and general program updates associated with changes in regulatory guidelines. Participation will be individual or as a member of a project team.

College degree preferred, or equivalent work experience. Strong interpersonal negotiation skills. Strong organizational, reasoning and analytical skills; strong conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated superior communication skills (written and verbal) are required for this individual to communicate with many levels throughout the organization. Strong Excel and expert level presentation skills. Able to work independently and has excellent time management skills. Preferred: Project Management Banking compliance and/or financial institution.

This associate level role requires 4 – 7 years of broad-ranging work experience in banking with demonstrated risk management skills is required. Prior experience with vendor risk management regulations and vendor relations, as well as a customer service focus. Requires a solid understanding vendor risk management, and the confidence to encourage personnel at all levels; to take the actions needed to ensure that the Bank's Vendor Risk Management program performs at a highly satisfactory level.
