Job Summary
Supervises all train crew-calling functions and facilitates the day-to-day train operations at the centralized Crew Management Center. Provides day-to-day coaching for clerical employees calling trains. Works with Operations Center, Labor Relations, labor organizations, and division personnel to operate the train network on time. Prepares reports, participates in conference calls, and holds daily job briefings with clerical workforce that includes office safety and operations highlights. Monitors and manages train delays attributable to crew unavailability, crew calling error claims, train crew held-away-time, and clerical qualifying time.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

  • Supervise all train crew-calling functions and facilitate the day-to-day train operations at the centralized Crew Management Center.
  • Provide day-to-day coaching for clerical employees calling trains.
  • Work with Operations Center, Labor Relations, labor organizations, and division personnel to operate the train network on time while monitoring and managing train delays attributable to crew unavailability, crew calling error claims, train crew held-away-time, and clerical qualifying time.
  • Hold daily job briefings with clerical workforce that includes office safety and operations highlights.
  • Prepare reports which include train delay reports, remote control conversion, and daily turnover.
  • Participate in conference calls which include daily origination calls and daily intermodal network calls.
  • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.


Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
  • 1 or more years of experience in Transportation, Logistics, Rail Operations, the Military, or Skilled Trades (building/construction, electrical, mechanical)
Equivalent Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 or more years of experience in Transportation, Logistics, Rail Operations, the Military, or Skilled Trades (building/construction, electrical, mechanical)
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
  • 1 or more years of supervisory experience in Transportation, Logistics, Rail Operations, the Military, or Skilled Trades (building/construction, electrical, mechanical)
Knowledge and Skills

  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Railroad industry knowledge
  • Personal leadership skills
  • Mainframe systems skills
