Our Mortgage team supports the nation's leading originator and servicer of residential mortgages.

THE TEAM

This role will report directly to Dudley Barksdale, Customer & Operational Insight Leader; and will lead a team of highly skilled professionals, with 7 direct reports and 45-50 total team members.

THE POSITION

This executive leads the Business Intelligence team of Home Lending Servicing and ensures the implementation of the Governance and Oversight Framework that has been mandated by the Wells Fargo Enterprise to drive data quality improvement. The team builds, deploys and maintains business intelligence capabilities that are mission-critical for the Servicing operations and enable fact-based decision making by Servicing leadership. They also collaborate horizontally across Servicing and beyond to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data from Serving processes and SORs used in regulatory and financial reporting.

Specifically this leader will:

  • Champion the Governance and Oversight initiative in Servicing and fulfill the role ‘data owner ‘as delegate of the Head of Servicing:

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data of servicing SORs used in regulatory financial reporting

  • Maintain all artifacts that are required by corporate governance

  • Sustain a regime of regular data quality testing and collaborate Partner with Operations and Risk to resolve issues in underlying processes and technologies

  • Serve as a point of escalation in Servicing for external partners in Finance, Accounting, Credit Risk Management, and Corporate governance groups

Lead the Business Intelligence Competency Center of Home Lending Servicing and set the agenda for solution delivery that includes:

  • Simplify, rationalize, consolidate, and enhance reporting processes and data environments to make scale a competitive advantage

  • Run the business intelligence stack that includes marts; business intelligence tool suites – Business Objects, SSRS/SSIS, SAS; scheduled reporting; processes to demonstrate control, quality and integrity performed daily, weekly, monthly

  • Architect and promote self-service solutions, guided ad-hoc to fulfill routine, repetitive queries

  • Continue to enhance SSDM and ensure its vocation to serve as the trusted source of MSP data for reporting and analytics across the Enterprise

  • Drive data quality; surface underlying process issues; exert influence on change management, process engineering, vendor management, functional operations that result in remediation and reengineering

  • Enable trail-blazing and discovery that translate into value-added reporting, analysis, marts, and capabilities

Partner to advance the business intelligence strategy of Servicing and influence the umbrella strategies of Home Lending, CLG, and the Enterprise; align the development of business intelligence capabilities with key initiatives that include:

  • Consolidation of Servicing SORs

  • Simplification and modernization of Servicing

  • Roll-out, and enhancements of workflow platforms in Foreclosure, Home Preservation, Claims and other functions of Servicing

  • Partnership with Black Knight Financial Services to develop an suite of industry-standard applications and the supporting data strategy

  • Data environments for Home Lending in partnership with the Mortgage Data Program and Enterprise Data and Analytics

Lead an organization of highly skilled professionals; cultivate and grow the mix of required skills that include:

  • Deep understanding of servicing processes and supporting technologies

  • Technical aptitude with multiple business intelligence tool suites (Business Objects, Microsoft SSIS/SSRS, SAS)

  • Analytic abilities to distill and present key information to variety of audiences

  • Critical thinking and consultative engagement

THE CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will work with senior leaders across Servicing, Home Lending, and the Enterprise to implement business intelligence strategies. The person will have strong thought leadership and analytic skill to engage and influence Executive Management and leadership across Servicing functions, Home Lending and the Enterprise, ensuring strict compliance with government regulation and internal policies and procedures.
