Polaris Industries District Sales Manager, Southern Mississippi/Alabama in Field Sales, Alabama


Develops and maintains a strong retail dealer network to meet and exceed corporate and district sales objectives for retail growth, increasing market share and upgrading the dealer network while projecting a professional image on behalf of Polaris. Successfully sells in products and programs to help achieve retail goals.

Preferred home location of Mobile, AL, Hattiesburg, MS or Pensacola, FL


  • Conducts regular business meetings with dealers to ensure wholesale goals and appropriate display

  • Develops, coordinates, and conducts sell-in presentations for new/existing products, events, programs

  • Assists dealers in establishing wholesale and retail goals, creating market demand within their territories, selling in proper stocking of product, and developing and implementing retail sales plans

  • Drives dealer profitability; encourages dealers to participate in all service schools, programs and sales training opportunities

  • Assists dealers in showroom set-up, including wall merchandising and display of machines

  • Sell-in and monitors Polaris branding requirements

  • Assists in planning & set-up and participates in marketing shows, dealer shows, exhibits and displays

  • Identifies and prioritizes open points; conducts market output analysis and selects markets

  • Identifies business improvement opportunities and sells into dealers

  • Manages administrative reporting and analysis needed by management to monitor district performance

  • Promotes financially stable dealer network and responds to dealer needs

  • Reports problems, status, and attitudes of dealer network to management

  • Conducts product demos for prospective customers and dealers

  • Evaluates and ranks multiple prospects in the dealer selection process, makes recommendations to management

  • Understand how to create dealer awareness around local market opportunities through provided tools and dealer extranet website


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required (Business, Marketing)

  • 3-5 years field sales and retail sales experience with proven track record required

  • 3-5 years sales administration, distribution and customer service experience required

  • An understanding, appreciation and passion for Polaris product preferred

  • Proficient in all MS Office software suite

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing


  • Extensive travel within territory of up to 80%

  • Some travel to remote locations and corporate functions may be required

  • Home office environment with support from corporate location
