Role Overview

Deliver client technology; managing strategic relationships (both internal and external) to ensure appropriate business alignment, governance and service delivery with the ultimate aim of driving innovation whilst managing risks and ensuring that where possible there is standardisation.

Work on strategy closely aligned to the CIO including emerging technologies such as digital, robotics, cloud, artificial intelligence

Ensure EY’s IT Services and external vendors deliver technology-enabled agile solutions to the business.

Governance of client technology, platform and investments of c$30m


  • Drive the successful delivery of all IT projects/programmes which support client engagements and services across the UK and Ireland (geographies), including (but not restricted to):

  • Business planning and strategy

  • Development of business cases

  • Business impact

  • Change management

  • Stakeholder management

  • Communications

  • Drive the consolidation of client facing infrastructures, including (but not restricted to):

  • Reallocation of data and services as appropriate

  • Stakeholder management

  • Work in collaboration with EYX and IT Services to understand emerging technologies and use this information to:

  • Assist the UK and Ireland business to disrupt themselves

  • Drive the creation of Service Line roadmaps for client technologies, ensuring where possible that there is standardisation of solutions across the Service Lines

  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders across the UK and Ireland, working collaboratively with them to understand their business needs with regard to client technology and services

  • Work in collaboration with UK&I Finance and the Enterprise IT and Knowledge Programme Manager to understand, manage, control and report on the UK and Ireland IT spend relating to client technology and services, including (but not restricted to):

  • Approval of IT PO’s and invoices

  • Management of the pipeline and reporting, including business planning, monthly reporting of actuals against budget, dashboards, cost allocation

  • Budgetary planning

  • Manage the day to day service management for client technology across the UK and Ireland, including but not restricted to:

  • Service monitoring: IT Services, Facilities Engineering, Facilities Management, external Vendors

  • Issue escalation (Vendor/IT Services to business; business to Vendor/IT Services)

  • Host and facilitate governance steering committee meetings

  • Oversee the Governance model for preparation of business cases for Steering Group

  • Prepare monthly reports and dashboards

  • Provide Subject Matter Expert guidance to CBS functions e.g. Supplier Relationship Management, Procurement and Legal

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for special projects e.g. Intelligent Workplace, EYX and others

  • The role requires someone who can work collaboratively across key people in the UK and Ireland business, IT Services, Procurement and external Service Providers, and is able to flex their style accordingly to influence senior stakeholders

  • Strong business acumen; able to understand the business implications of various approaches

  • Ability to develop strategy based on stakeholder requirements using this information to work with IT Services to build out solutions and drive them to a successful delivery,

  • Ability to work collaboratively across key people in the UK and Ireland, IT Services, Procurement and external Service Providers, and is able to flex their style accordingly to influence senior stakeholders.

  • Able to build strong relationships quickly; able to influence and leverage relationships

  • Strong track record of being able to navigate their way around diverse and complex organisational structures/relationships

  • Passion (not deep knowledge) for emerging technology – desire to immerse themselves and learn

  • Strong self-starter and someone who thinks outside of the box

General Experience

  • Strong client and vendor relationship building experience; self-starter with impact

  • Breadth and depth of understanding in business and technical requirements for IT core infrastructure, hosting and security

  • Strategic and programme management experience, with ability to understand and represent business and commercial interests

  • Excellent presentation skills, and ability to communicate with various audiences, senior stakeholders across the business and members of IT Services

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Multi-tasking skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities

  • Proficient in Excel for financial management; Word for business and technical documentation; and PowerPoints for stakeholder communication
