Roadway Lighting & Traffic Signal Installers- ALS Region 150American Lighting and Signalization is seeking career minded Roadway Lighting and Traffic Signal Installers of all levels throughout the state of Florida.

General duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments, poisonous plants or reptiles, and stinging insects.

  • Working hours will extend into night and will exceed an eight hour day.

  • Work nights, weekends and holidays for extended periods; may be required to perform duties as part of recovery force during emergencies and disasters.

  • Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.

  • May have contact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed.

  • May flag traffic and may be required to have training.

  • Operates various tools for the work (various manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jack hammers, drills, chipping guns, ground rod drivers, hand lines, etc.).

  • Works around hazardous equipment.

  • Works near energized parts or equipment.

  • Will be exposed to traffic.

  • Works around excessive noise from machines, jackhammers, chain saws and other equipment with proper hearing protection.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with roadway lighting and/or traffic signal construction is preferred but not necessary.

  • Must pass a Background / MVR check

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must have transportation to and from the startup location.

  • Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to wear necessary PPE as per task assigned.

  • A well maintained driving record is expected.

  • Must be able to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A) within 90 days of employment.

  • Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.

  • Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.

  • Must be able to traverse various terrains.

  • Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight or ten hour day.

  • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work.)

  • Must have sufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordination to get and use the appropriate equipment and tools.

  • Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.

  • Must be able to communicate with others.

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend written and verbal instructions/information.

  • Professionalism will be expected at all time.
