Communications Operations, Assistant Manager


  • Plan, coordinate and execute regionaland national events for the press in cooperation with all areas ofCommunications - including product launches, auto shows, media backgroundersand press conferences
  • Plan, coordinate and execute high-levelcorporate events for other key audiences, including analysts, industry leaders,third parties, etc.
  • Provide expertise and counsel inprogram design, décor and venue
  • Coordinate various stakeholder meetingsas part of the project planning process
  • Estimate and manage budget for assignedprojects; update, track and compile costs as they are received during theprogram
  • Manage logistical elements of programs,including venue selection and contracting, production, catering, mediainvitations and travel plans
  • Select and manage outside supplierresources for projects; initiate quotes, review estimates, approve and submitfinal bills for payment

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related fieldpreferred
  • High level of interpersonal skills;demonstrated ability to work closely with executive staff
  • Able to establish meaningfulinternal/external networks (i.e. media, product specialists, agencies, etc.)
  • Organizational skills, attention todetail and ability to prioritize
  • Flexibility and ability to multi-taskand handle more than one program at a time
  • Initiative and self-motivation; abilityto work independently and with little direction
