GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs cold food production for catered events.

Preparation and setup of serving and dining areas. Responsible to collect,

transport, replenish, serve, tear down and clean up at all events. Responsible for setting up and serving

alcoholic beverages. Provides excellent customer service. Interacts and communicates in a professional

manner with all levels of administration, staff and guests.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:

  • Performs cold food production such as salads,sandwiches, desserts, platters, and hor‘deveres.

  • Collects, transports and replenishes food andsupplies for special functions. Sets up dining areas in buffet or served stylewith proper linens, table settings, condiments, dishes, etc.

  • Serves from buffet or waitress style to seatedguests. Prepares and serves beverages.

  • Breaks down dining area tables, discards wasteand washes dishes or transports dishes to main dishwasher. Returns all food items and supplies tostorage areas.

  • Requisitions supplies, does pre-prep and sets upcarts for following day.

  • Records amounts of food and supplies used andreturned and number of guests served.

  • Packs foods and supplies for transport tooutside work sites.

  • Folds napkins and wraps silverware.

  • Assists in loading and unloading shuttle forspecial functions outside building.

  • Assists in other areas as requested.

  • Slices vegetables and fruits for SpecialFunctions and other areas of the department.

  • Checks food temperature in area and at events toensure safety/compliance with regulatory agencies.

  • Stores food appropriately; items labeled,covered, dated, and at correct temperature.

  • Restocks Functions area as necessary.

  • Monitors refrigerator and freezer temperaturesinternally and externally.

  • Inspects integrity of food products prior touse.

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Excellent customer service and communication

skills.

  • Experience in restaurant or food service

industry preferred.

Scheduled Hours per 2-week Pay Period 75
